Earned its chilling nickname due to a phenomenon where mysterious, unexplained pools of clean water appear on the floor.
- "Weeping" Walls: These puddles appear, sometimes in the same spot, without any obvious source, appearing as if the building itself is shedding tears.
- Unexplained Sounds: Visitors and owners have reported hearing the sound of a woman sobbing within the walls, along with other sounds like moans and groans.
History and Location
- Location: Situated on Carlton Road in the Penn Fields area of Wolverhampton.
- Age: Parts of the house date back to the late 15th century (around 1485), with origins of the property possibly reaching back to 1377.
- Usage: It has been a private residence, a boarding school, and an administrative building.
Reported Paranormal Activity
Beyond the crying phenomena, the hall is known for numerous ghostly occurrences:
- Apparitions: A woman in mourning/period dress, a small boy, and dark shadow figures.
- Poltergeist Activity: Particularly noted by a family in the 1970s and 80s.
- Other Activity: Cold spots, door handles turning, footsteps in empty rooms, and whispered voices

The Four crosses Inn was Built in 1636 and is considered to be one of Britain's most haunted Inn with tales of highway men and numerous other spirits who are waiting to interact with you,
known for poltergeist activity from a drunk spirit named Charlie to the sighting of a young girl on the stairs,
voices have been heard when there is nobody around ( I can verify this)
The site over the years has had many tragic deaths and the most recent years when a young boy was tragically killed when he ran out into the main road,
the Inn is also linked to the local legends' of the black eyed children,
